Description

High-quality Sauflex olivine diabase sauna stones designed for reliable performance in wood-burning sauna stoves. These rounded stones in the 10–15 cm size range provide excellent heat storage and create soft and long-lasting sauna steam when water is poured over the stones.

Olivine diabase is widely used in traditional Finnish saunas due to its excellent heat resistance and durability. The stones withstand repeated heating and cooling cycles and maintain their structure and performance over time.

The larger stone size increases the thermal mass of the stove, allowing the sauna to maintain stable heat and produce a slower, softer steam compared to smaller stones.

These stones are ideal for wood-fired sauna stoves, including many models from Harvia and other traditional sauna stove manufacturers.

For electric sauna heaters, smaller stones (5–10 cm) are typically recommended to allow sufficient airflow between the heating elements.

Technical Information

  • Natural Sauflex olivine diabase sauna stones
  • Rounded stones for optimal heat storage and steam distribution
  • Stone size: 10–15 cm
  • Weight: 15 kg
  • Ideal for wood-burning sauna stoves
  • High durability and excellent heat resistance

Usage

Before first use, rinse the stones with clean water to remove any dust. Stack the stones loosely in the heater to allow sufficient airflow between them. Proper placement improves heating efficiency and helps produce consistent and even sauna steam.

Choosing the Right Stone Size

Stones with a size of 10–15 cm are typically used in wood-burning sauna stoves, where the larger stones provide increased heat storage and produce a slower, softer sauna steam. For electric sauna heaters, smaller stones (5–10 cm) are usually recommended because they allow better airflow between the heating elements.

Delivery & Warranty

Product Information

Sauna stones are a natural product and may vary slightly in shape and colour. Small surface cracks can occur during heating and cooling cycles and are normal during sauna use. Before first use, rinse the stones with clean water to remove any dust. Stack the stones loosely in the heater to allow sufficient airflow between the stones.

Maintenance

To maintain optimal sauna performance, sauna stones should be checked regularly and replaced if they become heavily cracked or start to crumble after extended use.
