This project shows how a fully assembled sauna can be delivered and placed in one step, without any on-site construction.
This project in Malahide, Co. Dublin involved the installation of a Premium Cube Sauna 2.4 m with a full glass front and a Juniper feature wall.

Preparing the Foundation
Approximately one month before the sauna installation, the screw pile foundation was installed and prepared for the project.
The foundation had been positioned very precisely, allowing the sauna structure to align almost perfectly during installation.
This significantly reduced the amount of time normally required for levelling and positioning the sauna on site.

On-Site Sauna Assembly
Because the property only had a narrow side entrance, all sauna components had to be carried individually into the garden before assembly could begin.
At the same time, the garden offered sufficient open space for preparation works. This allowed tools and materials to be organised directly on the lawn area, helping to keep the installation process efficient.
Electricity was also available on site for all construction works.
The installation was carried out by teams of up to three people, including experienced carpenters specialising in high-quality timber construction.
The sauna was delivered directly by our own transport team, meaning the customer did not need to coordinate an additional delivery appointment with a separate freight company.
Construction and Installation Details
Once all components had been brought into the garden, the complete sauna assembly was carried out directly on site.
The installation included:
- complete structural assembly
- installation of the full glass front
- roof construction
- installation of interior and exterior benches
- installation of the Juniper feature wall
- heater preparation
- waterproof sealing of the floor construction
- application of exterior protective stain
The roof shingles were individually nailed into place, creating a clean and durable roofing system.
The entire sauna corpus, including the exterior benches, was fully stained during installation so the timber was immediately protected against weather exposure.
The sauna stands on three heavy-duty support feet, providing excellent structural stability.
In addition, the wall connections were sealed using sealing cord and sealing compound at floor level to help protect the construction against moisture over the long term.
A floor drain is also integrated into the sauna floor, allowing water to drain away during cleaning.
Thermowood Construction and Interior Design
The sauna was built using high-quality Thermowood manufactured and thermally treated in Finland.
This process creates a dense, durable, and dimensionally stable material that performs particularly well in outdoor environments.
Inside the sauna, double Alder benches were installed in an L-shaped configuration. This layout maximises the available seating space while creating a more spacious and premium interior atmosphere.
Ventilation openings are positioned both in the rear wall and in the door, ensuring controlled airflow throughout the sauna.
One of the key design features is the Juniper wall, which gives the interior a warmer and more exclusive appearance.
Black Front Design and Modern Appearance
The front section and the wooden hoop were supplied in black, creating a strong visual contrast against the Thermowood exterior.
This combination gives the sauna a very modern overall appearance.
The front exterior benches were also designed with integrated storage functionality, providing practical space for sauna accessories and equipment.
Harvia Cilindro PC90XW with WiFi Control
The sauna is equipped with a Harvia Cilindro PC90XW electric heater with integrated WiFi functionality.
The system includes:
- WiFi remote control
- integrated temperature sensor
- door sensor monitoring
One important aspect of this project was that only a single-phase electrical connection was available on site.
The selected heater configuration was specifically chosen to work within these site conditions while still providing strong heating performance for the 2.4 m sauna layout.
The final electrical connection is completed separately by a local electrician in accordance with local regulations.
Final Result
The completed sauna combines modern full-glass architecture with high-quality natural materials and robust construction details.
Thanks to the precisely prepared foundation, professional assembly process, and careful material selection, the installation could be completed efficiently and cleanly.
The combination of Thermowood, black exterior details, the Juniper wall, and L-shaped Alder benches creates a modern yet warm atmosphere.
